Pick Grading Every pick made at The Pick Exchange is automatically graded using units. Every pick is weighted the same using a WAGER 1 UNIT scale.
How Do Units Work? For most games on the board (depending on the sport) there will be three types of lines to choose from: Money Line, Point Spread and Over/Under. Each line will have a 3-digit number with either a plus sign (+) or minus sign (-) in front of it. In the sports gambling industry, this is typically called "juice". The minus sign (e.g.-130) always indicates the favorite and the unit amount you must wager to win 1 unit. The plus sign (e.g.+110) always indicates the underdog and the amount you win for every 1 unit wagered.
Therefore based on the examples we have used, you wager 1.30 units to win 1 unit on the favorite. If the favorite wins, you win 1 unit. If the favorite loses, you lose 1.3 units.
For the underdog, you wager 1 unit to win 1.1 units. If the underdog wins, you win 1.1 units. If the underdog loses, you lose 1 unit.
The typical juice for a Point Spread or Over/Under line is -105. Money Line juice will vary based on how large a favorite or underdog a team is to simply win a game outright.
